FCC Updates Part 15 Rules for 6GHz Band

The Federal Communications Commission has released new guidelines for unlicensed devices operating in the 6GHz spectrum.

The FCC has adopted new rules to expand unlicensed use in the 6 GHz band. These rules are designed to facilitate the deployment of next-generation Wi-Fi and other unlicensed technologies while protecting incumbent licensed services. The new rules allow for standard-power unlicensed operations in the 5.925-6.425 GHz and 6.525-6.875 GHz sub-bands under the control of an automated frequency coordination (AFC) system.
